Wins for Font and Carbonell in Jerez

With the third round of the Cup of Spain to Resist at the corner gate, Monlau Competition wished I take part in the Jerez Cadimar Trophy to prepare for the national event. For the occasion, Jaime Serrano led training has shifted with two Seat Leon Supercopa, the Jaume Font and Alex Carbonell, a Renault Clio Cup, David Cebrian and the Porsche 997 of Jurgen Smet.



The fastest on the track has been Jaume Font Jerez aboard the Seat Leon Supercopa. Then he has followed his teammate Jurgen Smet and closed the third on the grid rookie Alex Carbonell. David Cebrian, second in its class, has shown the clear dominance of Monlau Competition in these workouts.



1st race
A lime and sand for the Barcelona team soon after starting the race. For one, Smet has done an excellent start and was placed first. By contrast, Font has lagged behind and dropped to eighth. However, far from Font-collapse-has been used to the fullest and has staged a spectacular comeback, to snatch the first place Smet in the last corner, before going under the checkered flag. Thus, the polesitter has been consistent victory and Alex Carbonell was followed on the podium. Smet, who performed a spin in the latest twist to the track in Cadiz, was finally sixth and David Cebrian, with the Renault Clio Cup, has crossed the finish line in an excellent fourth place.


2nd race
Nothing but turn off the red lights, Font has had problems again but, again, has regained ground and fight for victory with teammate Alex Carbonell. The race has become a duel between Font and Carbonell who have rolled with a rate identical at all times. Finally, Carbonell-rookie competition last May, has made the victory and Font has been second to 912 milliseconds. The third step of the podium has gone into the hands of Jurgen Smet Cebrian the Porsche and was sixth overall.


This weekend, 15 and June 16, Monlau Competition will participate in the third round of the Cup of Spain Resistance at this same track, the Circuito de Jerez.
