Monlau Repsol Technical School concludes the 24 Hours of Barcelona

The 16th edition of the 24 Hours of Barcelona Automobile – Trophy Fermí Velez has been marked by adverse weather. During the first hours, the heavy rain has made the tires out of water and has become a rival to beat. By contrast, the second half of the race was raced on dry and although the team Repsol Monlau Technical School has had to deal with various contingencies, has finally seen waving the checkered flag at 12 noon.

Qualifying Session
The Seat Leon with dorsal 40, piloted by J. Font, A. Carbonell, J. Smet and J. M. Aicart Perez has demonstrated its potential stopping the clock at 2:00.304 and achieving the best A3T time between vehicles in addition to an excellent fifteenth place overall. The cord 41, with J. M. Alonso, J. Hernandez, J. Hernandez and J. Zapata also achieved an excellent fifth place with 2:04.170.

Race (24 Hours)

Despite the early rain, the best moments for tourism number 40 have been in the early hours. After placed in third place in its class after the first sixty minutes of competition, Font-Carbonell-Smet-Aicart leaders have been shortly after the third hour. With an impressive pace on the track at the Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona have not only maintained the first place among the A3T but have also filmed for several hours as fifth ranked overall. This accident, like his teammates, has made them fall in the standings but the momentum and sympathy that always exudes the formation Alonso-Hernandez-Hernandez-Zapata has helped them stay focused on their goal and ended finally in seventh place in its category.
