Monlau Competition starts the CER with three wins

Barcelona School of mechanics and engineers of this competition will compete in the 2013 Endurance Cup in Spain and Renault Clio Cup. The opening round of both events took place, this weekend, at the Circuito de Navarra and Monlau Competition has signed an excellent job scoring three wins and a second place in the CER. The team, led by Jaime Serrano and formed by the teachers engineers and the students, has made clear that this year will be one of the teams to beat.

Jaume Font, who in 2012 made a clear progression, has made an excellent start to the season in the layout of Los Arcos. The Spaniard, after a qualifying session where luck has not accompanied, has proven its worth. On a day with rain as the protagonist, Font has finished second in the first race and has scored a victory in the second indisputable; departing from the back of the grid. Excellent results for the pilot and his engineer, veteran David Simon.

Framed within the Seat Ibiza SC Trophy, Italians Luca Demarchi and Alfredo Salerno-guided by their engineer Enrique Lopez give no option to its rivals. Monlau Competition drivers, on board the new SEAT Ibiza 200 hp have been imposed in the two races that have formed the meeting. So Salerno and Demarchi not only have achieved victories in the class 2, but also in Division 5 and competed in the Seat Ibiza SC Trophy. In addition, Salerno has also taken the Challenge Joan Fernandez, reserved for riders over 48 years.

Renault Clio Cup
The CER absolute champions of 2012, Carlos Ezpeleta and David Cebrian, are participating this season in the top of the rhomb brand with its engineers responsible Marc Ribas and David Seguin, respectively. With the Renaults Clio Sport, Cebrian and Ezpeleta will try to fight for places of honor once fit French vehicles, after several seasons competing with their usual Seat Leon Supercopa.

Ezpeleta, meanwhile, has been among the ten fastest in qualifying and in places of honor in the Junior category. In the first race after two laps, a rival has taken out him the track and is stuck in the gravel unable to return to the track. In the second race, after a complicated output that has made him fall to the thirteenth place, the Spaniard has picked to finish in ninth place overall and third in the Junior classification.
